Life Science in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
BioCon Valley® as the central contact for life science, biotechnology and biosciences in North Eastern Germany networks the competencies of business, universities, academies, and research institutions within the scope of medicine, medical engineering and pharmacy.
BioCon Valley® operates technology centers specific for life sciences (“BioIncubator”) as start-ups for young companies and initiates and supervises projects, contributing to the economic and scientific profile of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The project office of health economy (HE) of BioCon Valley® is the central contact for cluster management, transfer network, food industry, and quality standards. It supports the sector of health and wellbeing of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern by projects of health tourismus, medical wellness, prevention and rehabilitation.

The Northern Netherlands start cooperation with Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Over the last years a major health sector has developed in the former East German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. During the past three days Mr. Max van den Berg, chairman of the Northern Netherlands Provinces and Queen's Commissioner of the Province of Groningen, visited this region, which is very similar to the Northern Netherlands. He was accompanied by the Chairman of the Board of the University of Groningen Sibrand Poppema and representatives of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), the Healthy Aging Network in the Northern Netherlands (HANNN), and the Triade company.
